Grass2Pro Girls Academy
Player Code of Conduct
Our promise: Grass2Pro is a welcoming girls-only football community where every player can enjoy the game, build confidence, develop at her own pace and feel that she belongs.
This Code applies to every player at training, matches, camps, events, the Girls’ Choice Lab and when representing Grass2Pro online or in the community.
Our five standards
1. Enjoy the game
· I will try my best, have fun and celebrate effort—not only goals or winning.
· I will be brave enough to try new skills, make mistakes and try again.
· I will help make football enjoyable for other players too.
2. Give respect
· I will speak kindly to teammates, coaches, parents, opponents, officials and venue staff.
· I will listen when a coach or session leader is speaking.
· I will not bully, tease, exclude, swear at, threaten or deliberately upset anyone.
· I will be a good sport whether we win, lose or draw.
3. Be inclusive
· I will welcome every girl, including players who are new, shy or still learning.
· I will respect people’s differences, backgrounds, faiths, abilities and identities.
· I will not make anyone feel left out because of how they look, play, speak or learn.
4. Work together
· I will encourage teammates and recognise their effort.
· I will share equipment, take turns and help set up and pack away when asked.
· I will communicate positively and solve small problems calmly.
· I will tell a coach if I see bullying, unsafe behaviour or someone who needs help.
5. Play safe
· I will follow instructions for footballs, cones, goals, air-track equipment and all activity stations.
· I will use the Girls’ Choice Lab responsibly: choose a station, follow its rules, respect waiting turns and stay in the agreed activity area.
· I will not use equipment in a way that could hurt me or someone else.
· I will tell a coach straight away if I feel unwell, hurt, worried, unsafe or unhappy.
· I will not leave the session area without telling a coach and my parent/carer.
Our Girls’ Choice Lab
The Girls’ Choice Lab gives players supervised time to explore, practise and choose challenges that interest them. With this freedom comes responsibility.
I will:
· Choose activities safely and follow the station rules
· Respect equipment and other players’ space
· Ask for help if I am unsure how to use something
· Encourage other girls to try, learn and enjoy themselves
· Accept that a coach may pause, change or stop an activity if it is not safe
Speaking up
Every Grass2Pro player has the right to feel safe, listened to, included and respected.
If something does not feel right, I can speak to:
· My coach
· The Grass2Pro welfare/safeguarding lead
· My parent or carer
· Another trusted adult
Speaking up is always the right thing to do. I will never be in trouble for asking for help.
If the Code is not followed
Grass2Pro will respond calmly, fairly and in a way that helps players learn. Depending on what happened, this may include:
· A quiet reminder or conversation
· A short reset away from an activity
· An apology or restorative conversation
· Parent/carer contact
· A behaviour plan or temporary removal from an activity
· In serious or repeated cases, suspension or removal from Grass2Pro activities
Our priority will always be the welfare, safety and positive experience of every player.
This Code supports the England Football Grassroots Code: Enjoy the Game, Give Respect, Be Inclusive, Work Together and Play Safe.
